The Fibre in Me & Dogalogue

Celebrating 25 years of professional arts practice, multi award-winning local artist Libby Bloxham will present two solo exhibitions, running concurrently over a two week period.

The Fibre in Me is a survey of Libby’s 25 year body of work looking back over selected works and the themes she has spoken about. On reflection Libby, an assemblage artist, can see just how much of her work features textiles, hence the title.

Betty. Photography by Bernie Fischer

Dogalogue, her current work of the last three and a half years is a series of 28 life size dogs of mixed breeds in character-defining coats, picturing the ongoing anthropomorphism of dogs. It’s an exhibition about love and our shared journey with dogs since their domestication. The dogs are full of character, brought to life in a book of fantasy short stories written to accompany the exhibition.
